Round 1 Judge

Asynchronously evaluate 1-3 minute video pitches using our rubric, focusing on innovative solutions and clear communication. To ensure fairness, kindly judge at least 5 pitches (only 15 minutes of your day!).

Work alongside a panel of judges to assess live 5-10 minute presentations with our rubric, akin to a traditional science fair. We appreciate your commitment for the duration of a school day and invite parents to participate as judges for the day .

Of course! The evaluation is designed so that students should be able to present their projects to non-specialized audiences. If the students decide to use a few jargon, they should explain what they mean. All we need are adults who are willing to judge solely based on merit and are willing to help foster passion in science!

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Even if we know you will judge based on merit, we need to prevent any potential bias. Any personal relation with any competitor is prohibited. Check out our Core Rules of Competition for more detailed instructions on judging eligibility and requirements.

If you volunteer to judge round 1, you should be able to judge at least 5 video submissions (approx. 15 min) and strongly encouraged to help make this competition possible. If you volunteer to judge round 2, you should be able to dedicate a whole school day of time to the competition date and be in the video meeting during students’ presentations for the judging process. For both rounds of the competition, you should refer and judge solely based on the rubrics for each round. Judges should not judge based on their own opinions, dress, or any external factors other than the competitors’ presentations and projects.
